Tonbridge Half Marathon

Tonbridge Rotary Club and Tonbridge Lions Club have jointly staged this event for the past six years, with support from Tonbridge AC and TMBC.  They have appointed Mick Barlow, an experienced Race Director, to take over from Andy Blundell who is retiring from this role after 5 years, but will continue as Race Secretary.With a long competitive career, Mick has been an EA and BARR  official for more than five years, gathering a huge amount of knowledge and experience from dozens of events, both at the big commercial end and also small club or local races.He has been the Course Director for the Tonbridge Half Marathon since inception, and takes pride in offering a safe, accurate race for all participants, indeed a race he would love to have a go at, given half a chance!

The annual Tonbridge Half Marathon is staged jointly by Tonbridge Rotary Club and Tonbridge Lions Club.  Our race village will be based in West Kent College, Brook Street, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 2PW. This venue offers parking, registration, changing, toilets and baggage.  Post-race massage, medal engraving, drinks and snacks are also on offer in an events village atmosphere.  You will need to be 17 or over on the day of the race to enter.
This year the event incorporates the Kent Half Marathon Championship.  Affiliated runners are automatically entered into the team event and can enter the individual event by ticking the appropriate box on the online entry form.
The Half Marathon race is a pan-handle out and back course, encompassing an accurately measured course on roads and lanes to the south of Tonbridge town. Most of the course has complete road closure, and there are four water stations with toilet facilities. The course is undulating and this is a challenging race where you'll receive huge support as you go through the tranquil village of Leigh, both on your way out and again on the way back, and an equally enthusiastic welcome on your return to Tonbridge.
Accurate timing and results service will be provided by Identisports, utilising Transponder timing services.  The finish funnel will boast a 2.3m x 1.53m Results Video Wall showing place, participant's name and finishing time as soon as you cross the finish line.
All finishers receive a bespoke finishers medal, technical short-sleeved T-shirt and goody bag.  First aid and paramedic support will be provided by S.E.Medical.  On-course photography will be provided by Sussex Sport Photography.  
This even is run under the rules of UK Athletics, UKA Race Licence has been applied for, and we are a BARR Gold Graded event for race excellence.

Entries have now closed for the Tonbridge Half Marathon.  Please note that entries cannot be accepted on the day of the event.
