TraceabilityThis is a fully funded interactive workshop held at ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre. This workshop gives an introduction to the processes required to create a comprehensive traceability system to trace raw materials through to finished product and finished product back to raw materials. Traceability is a legal requirement for all food businesses and an important step in being prepared in the event of a product recall.Course content• Explain the need for traceability and the consequences of getting it wrong.• Describe the legal requirements for traceability.• Demonstrate the practical application of forwards and backwards traceability including mass balance.• Additional considerations when setting up traceability. This course is aimed at businesses looking to set up traceability systems or to provide staff involved in completing process paperwork an insight into traceability, its importance and practical application. The workshop will include activities to demonstrate forwards and backwards traceability exercises.As part of your attendance at this workshop, delegates will be asked for their National Insurance number at the end of the session.
