Copperplate is an elegant and classic script, with strong contrast between thin and thick strokes, written with a pointed nib and ink.
This course explores the elegance and precision of Copperplate minuscules (lowercase letters) and capitals letters, guiding participants through the foundational strokes, letterforms, and rhythm that define this classic pointed-pen script.
The course comprises four two-hour sessions on the followind dates, from 2 pm to 4.00 pm:
- Session 1: Saturday 2nd May 2026
- Session 2: Saturday 9th May 2026
- Session 3: Saturday 16th May 2026
- Session 4: Saturday 23rd May 2026
Students will practice essential drills—hairlines, shades, ovals, and compound curves—before constructing each letter with attention to proportion, slant, spacing, and contrast.
Ideal for beginners and intermediate calligraphers, the session builds muscle memory through structured exercises and guided feedback.
