CIHT North West Young Professional's Committee are delighted to invite you to our Technical CPD event on the importance of traffic surveys in transport modelling.
 
This event will be joined by two guest speakers Gavin coupe (Managing Consultant - Atkins) and Dr Paul Firmin (University and Transport Planning Lecture). Both speakers have vast knowledge and experience in this area of expertise so this will be a good opportunity for professionals with limited knowledge or experience in this area to develop their knowledge. 
 
During the event, the speakers will explain what TRICS is and how it can be used in transport planning with examples of previous projects. 
The event will look to discuss the pros and cons of TRICS as a tool. Dr Firmin will express his thoughts/ experiences on the positives of using TRICS and the benefits it gives us as transport planners. Gavin Coupe will discuss the limitations of this software and the negative experiences that he has had when using the software. 
Questions will then be opened up to the audience.
 
The event will take place at The Exchange, Manchester on Friday 18th May at 17:30, finishing at around 19:00
