B﻿efore attending this course, you must have attended both of our previous courses mentioned below:<ol><li>Introduction to visualisation</li><li>Introduction to CT theory </li></ol>Course StructureThis course covers the wide range of advanced segmentation methods that can be applied to X-ray CT data for post processing analysis. Standard binerisation methods are explored for simple structure analysis while watershed methods are explained for multiphase materials. The final parts of the course concentrate on the production of bespoke segmentation pipelines:-	Global thresholding methodso	Basic theory behind global thresholding and the current techniques used to identify phase boundaries-	Advanced global thresholding methodso	Techniques such as hysteresis, auto-thresholding etc are explained and how these can be applied-	Watershed segmentationo	What is watershed segmentation and the generation of seed pointso	Application of a number seed point generation methodso	Watershed method for engineering partso	Watershed method for multiphase materialso	Customised watershed recipes-	Local segmentation methodso	Application of local segmentation toolso	Theory of opening and closing in segmentationo	White/black hat segmentation-	Production of bespoke segmentation recipes
