Training &amp; Education: Exploring how to equip Scotland in feeling confident  supporting bereaved children and young people

We are inviting adults with experience of working with children and young people (under the age of 25) who have been bereaved across Scotland to take part in roundtable discussions. These discussions will advance the work of the includem National Childhood Bereavement Coordinator Project and inform our recommendations to the Scottish Government.There will be two online sessions, one on 28/06/21 and one on 05/07/21, both held via Zoom. Across these two sessions, we will be exploring a set of key questions to understand how training and education can play a part in a young person's journey through grief. We would encourage people to attend both sessions as each one will be exploring different aspects of the topic. There will also be a final session (TBC) to provide an opportunity to sense check the draft recommendations to Scottish Government. Pre-session materials and the agenda will be sent out beforehand to ensure you are prepared for the discussions.The Training &amp; Education' discussions will be jointly planned and facilitated by Denisha Killoh (Project Lead) and David Duncan (Teacher and Doctorate of Education Student, University of Strathclyde).28/06/21:Question: What resources already exist within education and how can communities draw on and develop these to improve experiences for bereaved children and young people?05/07/21:Question: How do we address the current gaps in providing effective support, through education and training, to grieving young people and their families?These events are part of a series of discussions to advance the work of the National Childhood Bereavement Coordinator Project funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Includem.
