Overview

Training to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver services that are trauma informed, protecting both clients and staff

The Trauma Approach:

The aim of this course is to give you knowledge to ensure that your workplace and services are delivered in a trauma informed way which protects your clients and staff .

It is essential therefore that we are as best informed in our approach as possible. Because more appropriate ways of working are constantly being realized, our training needs to reflect our new understanding.


Course overview:

  • How trauma impacts our development and why it often leads to addictions
  • Processed and un-processed trauma in the body
  • The different types of addiction and their impact
  • Unmet needs, natural chemicals and why we get addicted
  • Trauma informed Person-Centered approach
  • Trauma trained techniques and their application to the workplace
  • Vicarious trauma and how we can take care of ourselves


This is an interactive classroom-based course, with discussions to encourage best practice through sharing information and the opportunity to practice your newly learned skills.

Venue: The Carers' Support Service, Town Hall Sq, Grimsby, DN31 1HY

Time: 9.30am – 4.30pm with breaks and will give you 5 hours of certified CPD.
