Transforming Birth

We are a group of Midwifery students from various years with an aim to helping and supporting each other through the course.  This includes providing social events to promote interaction between the different cohorts, promoting wellbeing and encouraging further learning outside the Midwifery programme.  Our aim is to raise awareness of the society via conferences, social media and general promotional activities throughout the year and encourage participation between students, tutors and other external interested parties.

University of Salford Midwifery Society

We are proud to present our fifth annual student-led Midwifery Conference by the University of Salford Midwifery Society. 
This year our conference will focus on Transforming Birth, and how we as midwives, student midwives and other healthcare professionals involved in maternity services, can improve expiriences, care and outcomes for women, their babies and families. A number of remarkable guest speakers will be joining us to present key topics, bringing a wide range of perspectives to the day.

On the day, there will be stalls hosted by Association of Radical Midwives (ARM), Ingleside Birth Centre, Beyond Bea, GMEC Maternity Voice Partnerships, USSU Midwifery and Pinter and Martin. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day. We will also be hosting our first Great Midwifery Bake-off Competition.
This conference is open to all interested in maternity services including Midwives, Student Midwives, Aspiring Midwives, Obstetricians, Service Users and Healthcare Professionals.

Are there ID requirements to enter the event?
If you are a student purchasing at the discounted price, please bring some form of student identification with you to registration.
If you are a student at the University of Salford, please bring your Salford student ID card.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please bring either your e-ticket or a printout of your ticket.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Mary Seacole Building is accessed via Statham Street with car parking at the back of building. Parking is limited at the University and will incur a parking charge.
The Mary Seacole Building is a 5-minute walk from Salford Crescent Train Station.
There are bus stops outside the Mary Seacole Building, please check your local timetables and routes.
