Welcome to an exciting event called Trauma-Informed Practice to Support EAL Learners with Dr. Tina Rae! Join us online on Monday 10th March 2025 at 16:00 to learn from the renowned expert Dr. Tina Rae about how to effectively support students who are refugees and English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners who have experienced trauma.

At this current time, we are all very much aware of on-going conflicts across the globe including in Gaza, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan and Somalia to name but a few. For those who support our children and young people in both the learning and social context there is an evident need to develop approaches to effectively support refugees both on a practical and emotional level.

Dr. Tina Rae will discuss some of the potential areas for staff in schools to develop and introduce her new resources, highlighting some of the key content and therapeutic tools and approaches. This event aims to support you, as a practitioner, in understanding trauma-informed approaches and developing trauma-informed contexts, and share practical tools and approaches which can be used and adapted safely in the learning context.

Dr. Tina Rae has 40 years’ experience working with children, adults, and families in clinical and educational contexts within local authorities and specialist services. She is currently working as a Consultant Educational and Child Psychologist in a range of SEMH and mainstream contexts and for fostering agencies as a Consultant Psychologist supporting foster carers, social workers and looked after children.
