About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Another session in the popular series as we celebrate Camberwell’s remarkable trees through an afternoon of guided drawing. This time we are back in Brunswick Park. All ages and all abilities are welcome. We provide the art materials. Please bring a stool or blanket to sit on, if you would be more comfortable. The session is led by botanical illustrator & local artist David More.

Brunswick Park, for those don’t know, was originally a private 18th Century square named after Caroline of Brunswick (George IV’s unhappy Queen). The Metropolitan Borough of Camberwell acquired the land in 1901, and opened it as a public park. More recently, it was the home of Boris the albino squirrel. It is still home to many squirrels and other forms of wildlife. Besides this, the four-acre park features tennis courts, a playground, and one of the tallest trees in Camberwell.

The event is organised by Camberwell’s Trees and Green Spaces Group, and is jointly sponsored by the SE5 Forum for Camberwell (se5forum.org.uk) and the Camberwell Society (camberwellsociety.org.uk)

We are delighted to be part of the Urban Tree Festival 2025, and welcome all tree enthusiasts from London and further afield.
