Tree ID for absolute neophytes

A gentle stroll around scenic coastal parkland looking at a selection of native British trees and learning some quick tips on identifying them. Aimed especially at non-experts.

Length of walk: 1.5 miles (approx 1.5 hours)

Walk Cost: Free of charge

Type of Walk: Circular

Start Location: By the hut at Appley Park upper car park (NB not Puckpool Park), PO33 1ND (grid reference: SZ 60624 92251).

Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.

Walk grade: Fairly Easy - Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route.

Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.
