Learn how to trim your own pots on the wheel, a great follow up class for anyone who has already completed a taster workshop on the wheel.

Pot trimming is an important next-step in the ceramic process and this is a great follow-on class if you have been to one of our taster wheel workshops. Trimming/turning involves refining the shape and form of a piece after it has been thrown on the wheel. You will learn how to centre, level and trim the base of your pots. Practice using various tools to achieve the finish you want, add foot rings to your pots and refine the shape.If you have booked one of our taster wheel throwing workshops, you are encouraged to keep these pots for the follow-on trimming class. We will provide small test pieces for you to practice on if you do not have any of your own pieces to work on.--The tutor: Francesca Flynn (she/her) is a Glasgow based award-winning artist and desginer specialising in ceramic sculpture. Public transport: First busses 60, 60A, 61 - Bluebird X10, X10A and West Coast Motors 17 all stop on Maryhill Road just 2 minutes walk away. Kelvinbridge and St Georges Cross underground are approx 17mins walk. Entrance to the studio is via one small step at the front door on Garscube road and there is level access from the car park at the back.
