Description
On July 23rd 2016 we will be launching the first ever Truro Raspberry Jam to bring together enthusiastic and beginner Raspberry Pi users in the county of Cornwall - basically, anyone interested in finding out about computing and coding on a Raspberry Pi!
There will be plenty of opportunities to find out about cool projects with show and tell tables, marketplace stalls and talks and workshops led by teachers and community members.
Information about workshops can be found in the flier picture above. We will also be running Micro PiNoon, a robot wars competition where you can either bring your own sub-A6 Raspberry Pi based robot to battle in the balloon bursting race, or use the house robots, as made by creator Brian Corteil.
Bill Lamin (1948 -2014)
Truro Raspberry Jam is dedicated to the memory of Bill Lamin - head of ICT at Pool Academy from 1982 until 2007. Bill was passionate about supporting computing and ICT across West Cornwall and he continued to do so with Kernow Cyber School even after retiring from teaching.
We plan for this event to be completely family friendly, however, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Truro and Penwith College have kindly agreed to open the café during this event so refreshments will be available to purchase.
Many thanks to Cornwall Tech Jam, Software Cornwall and Truro and Penwith College for their support with organising this event.
