Trustee Essentials
Learn how to be an effective trustee for Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations
Trustees play an important role in making sure charities are well-managed and can achieve their aims but many go into this role not fully understanding their legal duties and responsibilities.
This workshop will help you understand your duties as a trustee and support you to run your charity effectively so you can make a bigger difference.
This session is suitable for:
· Trustees keen to take the next step in performance
· Trustees wanting to take on more board responsibility
· Experienced trustees wanting a refresher
Objectives: to gain an understanding of:
· Roles of ‘trustee, director and management committee’
· Voluntary and community sector legal structures
· Governance and the key principles of good governance
· Trustee legal duties and responsibilities
· How to make the split between management and governance work
Eligibility:
The training is free. To access the programme, your organisation must be based in and/or operating in York, for the benefit of the residents of York.
If you are unable to attend, please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can try to offer the place to another delegate.
