Twiddle Muffs
Join us as we make twiddle muffs for Dementia Awareness Week
Join us for a gentle, hands‑on craft session in honour of Dementia Awareness Week, where we’ll come together to create comforting and stimulating twiddle muffs—soft, sensory hand warmers adorned with textures, ribbons, buttons and other tactile elements that can offer reassurance, warmth and calm to people living with dementia.
This relaxed workshop invites you to slow down, enjoy the soothing rhythm of making and learn simple techniques for sewing and embellishing, all while exploring how these small handmade items can provide comfort, reduce anxiety and support meaningful wellbeing. Whether you are an experienced crafter or taking your first steps with yarn and needle, you’ll find friendly guidance, shared conversation and a warm atmosphere throughout.
We will provide a selection of materials, though you are very welcome to bring along any spare yarn, fabric scraps, buttons or textured trims you’d like to incorporate. Every twiddle muff created will carry its own personality, shaped by the colours, textures and imagination you bring to it.
You’ll leave with a completed or part‑finished twiddle muff and the quiet satisfaction of contributing something thoughtful and practical to Dementia Awareness Week, as well as enjoying a few hours of creative company and gentle purpose.
