Twitter 101
Are you curious about what the micro blogging platform Twitter is and why you might want to use it? If you’re not yet using Twitter but thinking about how it could benefit you and your role then this is the workshop for you! We’ll introduce you to Twitter, explore it’s benefits and potential impacts and start you off on your Twitter journey by taking you through what you need to do to set up an account:
This two and a half hour workshop will help you to:
• Explore what Twitter can help you do (and what it doesn’t do);
• Take a closer look at what kinds of impact Twitter could have for you and your project/profile;
 • Set up your Twitter account and look at some basics;
• Give you advice on how to make best use of Twitter for your academic/project profile.
Pre-workshop preparation
This is a hands-on session and you will need to bring a device (e.g. smart phone or laptop), which connects to the OU wifi. In preparation for the session you will also need to think about what you want to use social media (Twitter) for and bring along an image file to use for you or your project’s profile.
