Bren Simson made her home in Hammersmith 23 years ago having lived in various places in West London since she was 18. She has a strong interest in how places shape how we live. With a background in history studies and filmmaking, she enjoys discovering  and sharing the stories which throw a light on present day Hammersmith.

Explore Hammersmith’s Riverside  through the story of two artistic studios, 100 years apart.

Riverside Studios

Starting with Peter Gill’s innovative theatre work at Riverside Studios, this walk covers points of historical and cultural interest along Hammersmith’s Thames path to Kelmscott House where William Morris started the Kelmscott Press and held meetings of his Socialist League. We continue to Hammersmith Terrace, home to his collaborator Emery Walker. We return along a slightly different route to Riverside Studios where the walk ends.
