A free monthly space for writers to share their poems, flash fiction, monologues, short story or novel extracts, hosted by the Tees Women Poets in association with Stockton Libraries. Our guest in July is Special K. Born and raised Stateside in Virginia, Special K has made the most of being shut in by travelling the world via Zoom and is now considered by many as the world&#x27;s poet. Her poetry entertains and mesmerizes audiences while touching on subject matter that may be considered taboo or radical. However she is always inspirational. It is nearly impossible to sit through a Special K set and not be empowered or feel called to an action of some sort. Special K is better than any cereal and more addictive than any drug. One taste of her poetry and you&#x27;ll be addicted too. Sit back, relax, enjoy and prepare to get your Special K fix.

Our open mic is open to everyone from everywhere, with a particular welcome for writers who are women and/or from Teesside. We do not permit hateful or offensive speech, and reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone behaving inappropriately. We ask all readers and performers to send us the text of their work in advance, so we can screen share it for our deaf audience members.
