Introduction to both sides of Tyburnia.
Please note: Booking is Essential
For almost seven centuries, Tyburn was London’s theatre of death, where huge, disorderly crowds gathered to witness multiple public executions. Then, in less than fifty years, the area was transformed into: ‘The elegant, the prosperous, the polite Tyburnia, the most respectable district of the habitable globe.’ Pete Smith will introduce you to both sides of Tyburnia and to some of its residents, both temporary and permanent.
In-person: For access to the event, please use the Aldermanbury entrance to Guildhall Library/The London Centre.
Online via YouTube: Event link to be sent to attendees 24 hours prior to the talk.
