Who is this event for for?

This event is for Heads of Department, Course leaders and Admissions teams at higher education institutions that deliver creative subjects (Art & Design, Music, Performing Arts, Fashion, Media, etc.). The content is specifically aimed towards members of staff at higher education institutions who are involved in, or impacted by, the recruitment of learners onto their degree programmes.

This is an open and free event and we encourage for it to be shared with any colleagues who meet the above description.

What will this event be covering?

Post-16 education in England faces a period of unprecedented change. Department for Education reforms to qualifications and funding across all levels will affect the learners progressing into the higher education sector from 2026 and beyond. Join us on Wednesday 15th May where we will be sharing an update on the reforms, the potential impacts they could have on higher education institutions, and our plans to help prepare for the changes ahead.

We will share our views and updates on:

The reforms and their timelines.
The potential impact on the pipeline of learners progressing to higher education.
How the higher education sector can prepare for the changes.
UAL Awarding Body’s forthcoming suite of Alternative Academic Qualifications (AAQs).
The opportunities to collaborate and support one another.

We will be taking the opportunity throughout the session to ask for your feedback on key points raised so we can adapt our own plans accordingly.

Presenters will speak for just under an hour before addressing questions and inviting comments for 30 mins.
