UCL-wide High Performance Computing Workshop for new Myriad users, teaching basic skills for high performance computing

Where: Online - details of how to connect will be sent via email before the event.When: <ul><li>Tuesday 26th: 9:30-1pm</li><li>Wednesday 27th: 9:30-1pm</li><li>Thursday 28th: 9:30-1pm, 2-5pm</li></ul>Who: This is a workshop aimed at UCL postgraduate students and research staff who have not used an HPC cluster before. You do not need to be familiar with the Unix/Linux command line, as this will be taught on the first day of the workshop. The second and third days will teach you the skills you need to get up and running on the UCL Myriad high throughput cluster.  Syllabus:This course aims to teach you how to access and use the Myriad computing cluster at UCL - how to access Myriad, transfer files on and off the cluster, find and use relevant software and run your own code. We do not cover how to program for High Performance Computing - if you want to learn this, info on more advanced courses is on the course website.Requirements: <ol><li>This is an online course; participants must have a laptop (Windows, Mac or Linux) to work on, not a tablet.</li><li>You must apply for access to Myriad in advance of the course via the web form at the following link<a href="https://www.rc.ucl.ac.uk/docs/Account_Services/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">: Research Computing account services</a>.
