About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Jean-Luc will talk about the amazing habitats and stories from UK MPAs – why we need to protect our seas, the increased urgency in the face of climate change, and how the conversation and perspective of ‘protection’ has changed over the past 2 generations. What does this evolution mean for the Channel Islands, and how we – as a society – are facing the greatest challenge to mankind.

Jean-Luc was trained in Liverpool as a marine biologist before undertaking 10 years of coral reef ecological research and expedition science to create progressive marine management. For the past 25 years he’s been working in UK and Europe to progress management measures to fulfil MPA objectives and return our seas and their habitats to their full productive potential.
