<h3>About the Assembly</h3>The inaugural UK Statistics Assembly will bring together users, producers and stakeholders to discuss and advise on the UK’s statistical and data priorities.Hosted by the UK Statistics Authority and arranged in partnership with the Royal Statistical Society, the UK Statistics Assembly is formed in response to a recommendation from the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/independent-review-of-the-uk-statistics-authority-uksa-2023/independent-review-of-the-uk-statistics-authority-by-professor-denise-lievesley-cbe-html" title="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/independent-review-of-the-uk-statistics-authority-uksa-2023/independent-review-of-the-uk-statistics-authority-by-professor-denise-lievesley-cbe-html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Independent Review of the UK Statistics Authority,</a> led by Professor Denise Lievesley. <h3>Who the Assembly is for</h3>The Assembly is for representatives from diverse and wide-ranging sectors including:<ul><li>arm's length and public sector bodies</li></ul><ul><li>business and industry</li></ul><ul><li>charities and voluntary organisations</li></ul><ul><li>international stakeholder organisations</li></ul><ul><li>local government</li></ul><ul><li>media representatives</li></ul><ul><li>members of the public</li></ul><ul><li>research and academia</li></ul><ul><li>UK and devolved government departments</li></ul> <h3>The Assembly is an opportunity to</h3><ul><li>Discuss and identify priorities and gaps for the production of UK statistics.</li><li>Encourage and enable contributions and representation from a diverse range of users and producers.</li><li>Build upon existing engagement structures to understand user priorities across the statistical community.</li></ul>It's also an opportunity to network, hear from statistics and data experts, and shape the UK's statistical landscape. We look forward to seeing you there. <h3>View the Assembly agenda</h3>To help plan the Assembly, we invited submissions via a <a href="https://consultations.ons.gov.uk/external-affairs/uk-statistics-assembly/" title="https://consultations.ons.gov.uk/external-affairs/uk-statistics-assembly/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">call for contributions</a> which ran between September and November 2024. This was an opportunity to submit your:<ul><li>suggestions for agenda discussion items and presenters</li></ul><ul><li>examples of statistical and data priorities, gaps, and public and user needs</li></ul><ul><li>ideas for other cross-cutting areas for the Assembly to consider, such as data sharing and technology</li></ul>We received a wide range of quality contributions. We used the preferences and detailed evidence from the contributions to develop a comprehensive, interactive agenda. We have now published an agenda for the Assembly that reflects these.
