The LIVE Event to inspire our nationThe UKickstart Event 2020 is a FREE to attend opportunity for meeting professionals to demonstrate the power of events; to showcase our industry and inspire confidence; to be the catalysts that kick-starts the events industry.The aim is to bring everyone together - whether in-person at one of the numerous venue hubs - or online for an unforgettable experience.Join us in-person Register now for your closest location and take part in the event in-person - LIVE! Hubs are located in major cities such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, Farnborough, Liverpool and Belfast - with more locations announced soon (so it's worth checking back again if these don't suit you). Or, join us virtuallyIf you can't make it in-person, then show your support by joining us virtually. There will be plenty of ways you can contribute by attending online.The Event Agenda The will run from 1pm until 5.30pm and include the following sessions.Main Session: 2 - 4pm: Re-Opening and Re-Imagining Events. The panel will include Nigel Huddleston MP, the Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport , Tracy Halliwell MBE (Director of Tourism, Conventions and Major Events at London and Partners), Simon Hughes (Chairman of BVEP), Nick de Bois (Chair of the Visit England Advisory Board) and will be moderated by Callum Di Leto from C&amp;IT. Topics will include:<ul><li>Government Guidance for 1st October</li><li>How we got here as an industry</li><li>What the future holds for business events</li></ul>This will be a fully interactive session with plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the discussion. The Agency Perspective: 1 - 1.45pm: The line-up for this panel includes Rick Stainton (Founder and Group Executive Director of Smyle), David Watt(CEO of CI Group) and Lex Butler (Founder of Wolf &amp; White and Chair of HBAA). The session will be moderated by Martin Fullard (Editor of Conference News) and will be broadcast LIVE from etc.venues County Hall.The panel will be discussing various issues including what agencies have been doing to remain in business and retain talent during the Covid-19 pandemic, business predictions and solutions for the future, the new crowdfunded initiative ‘One Industry, One Voice’ and how to bring back full audiences to conferences and events including the role that technology might play.

How to Kick-Start Live Performance: 4.30 -5.30pmThis panel session will discuss Kickstarting Live Performance Events and will be streamed LIVE from Illuminate at the Science Museum. The line up for the panel includes Adam Blackwood (Founder and Creative Director of Private Drama), Jon Drape (Director of Engine No 4), Clara Cullen (Venue Support Manager) and Nicholas Wells (Owner of Power Plan Services Ltd). The session will be moderated by Bryan Raven, Managing Director of White Light.The panel will discuss issues encountered due to the pandemic, covering small music venues, theatres, indoors/outdoor venues and arenas, as well as the solutions needed to overcome these. We are particularly excited to have Jon Drape, Director of Engine No 4, on board who will be discussing the challenges and lessons learnt from his recent experience working on the Virgin Money Unity Arena Festival in Newcastle.
