UUCS Virtual Hackathon: 12 Hour Hackathon

<p></p><p>*<em>In order to align with mid-semester break, a workshop will happen a day before  on Monday 29th March from 6pm to 8pm, which will include talks from Allstate. </em></p><p></p><h1>UUCS presents:  Virtual Hackathon</h1><h3>Date and Time:  Tuesday 30th March / 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM.</h3><h3></h3><p>This event is going to be a 12-hour hackathon. You will be tasked to create a Web App based from a problem statement. </p><p>The problem statement is written by Allstate NI based on a real world problem around mental health. </p><p>Open to all levels and if you don&#x27;t know how to code you are very welcome to come along!</p><p><strong>There is over £350 prizes to give away!</strong></p><p><strong>Allstate are providing a 2-hour React JS workshop on the Monday the 29th from 6-8pm before to help you get up to speed on web programming. Ryan, an AI Software Developer will make it super easy to follow along and teach you the basics of this amazing framework! <h3>Required programs for participation</h3><li><strong>Slack</strong>; for announcements, help and general team communication</li><li><strong>Zoom</strong>; for use of breakout rooms for each team and presentation of project. </li><h3></h3><h3>There will be six Allstate engineers to help you, so you will be supported along the way! Don't have to worry if you haven't a clue on what to do.</h3>

<h2>Schedule</h2><p><strong> 09:00 - 09:30 </strong>- Introduction to the task</p><p><strong>09:30 - 19:30</strong> - Work time</p><p><strong>19:30 - 20:30</strong> - Presentation of the project. Designated members of the team will showcase their final project via their Zoom breakout room. </p><p>Prize announcements will then take place after all team's project has been viewed by the adjudicators.</p><p>Full schedule will be given near the time. </p><h2>Prizes*</h2><p>1st prizes:<strong> £200 total of Amazon vouchers (£50 per person)</strong> for the winning team!</p><p>2nd prizes: <strong>£100 total of Amazon vouchers (£25 per person) </strong>for the runners up!</p>
