A mad person's history of madness in Ireland!The Manchester Irish History Club welcomes Lauren Massey to deliver a discussion seminar, talking about the 'World Within Walls’ project about Monaghan District Lunatic Asylum and Hannah Greally's book Bird's Nest Soup about her time in the 1940s and 50s as a "mentally well, but unclaimed" patient in St. Loman's Hospital in Mullingar.Join us at the Irish World Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, on Monday 27th October, 7pm and explore the Irish hsitory of mental health institutions & asylums through a true-story lens, uncovering what lead to the cultural shift we see today.
