About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 5 minutes

This London-based event focuses on "Unconventional Career Paths" for physiotherapists. Attendees will hear firsthand accounts of how and why colleagues have diverged from traditional roles, gaining insight into their achievements working internationally and in private practice and the hurdles they faced. The aim is to inspire members to consider their own unique career trajectories and to broaden their understanding of the diverse applications of physiotherapy skills.

Speakers will include:

Ilona Fricker - a UK trained Physiotherapist, based currently in South Africa. For the last 19 years, Ilona has been living and working internationally in countries including Uganda, Indonesia, Laos Jordan and the US training and supporting physiotherapists in diverse settings. She has been working in the field of Trauma and Torture rehabilitation since 2009. Currently, she works as a Clinical Advisor for Physiotherapy for The Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) managing and guiding the clinical quality of the physiotherapy services in Jordan and Iraq.

Tom Taverner - owner and founder of VIM Health which is a pioneering neurological rehabilitation center designed to transform how care is delivered. Combining advanced robotics with evidence-based therapies, VIM Health offers a personalized, cutting-edge approach to neuro-rehabilitation in a beautifully designed, client-focused environment.

Katie Knapton - Chair of Physio First and Founder of PhysioFast Online a quality accessible Physiotherapy service via video. Katie is also a member of the CSP South East Coast Regional Network core team and an ACPOHE committee member.

A key benefit of attending is the dedicated networking time, providing a valuable opportunity to connect with like-minded physiotherapists in London who are exploring or have already embarked on unconventional paths.

All CSP members are invited including students and we hope to see you there!

If you have an unconventional career path, please nominate yourself to become a Network Champion to share your experience during the networking sessions. This event promises to be an enriching experience for those seeking inspiration, practical knowledge, and connections within the evolving landscape of physiotherapy careers.
