An evening of creative conversations, with none of the awkward chit-chat.

Whether you're a battle hardened creative, new to the industry, or just simply interested in conversations based around creativity, Under the layer is designed to give everyone the chance to speak and be heard.Here you'll find like-minded people, and those with a different viewpoint. Come and make bonds with the dreamers, the makers, the movers and the shakers. Bounce ideas off each other, tackle problems together, teach and be taught new insights, info and perspectives!How Does it Work?On arrival you'll be given your own creative 'icebreakers', it's time to find a partner and ask them one of your icebreakers. The pair of you then have five minutes to discuss your thoughts and opinions on the matter (get as deep and meaningful, or as informal and lighthearted as you want, it's up to you!)After the first round, then it's the old switcheroo! Find new partners and pose another icebreaker to them - you'll have plenty to choose from.Don't worry if your conversation gets cut short, you'll have plenty of time after the 'icebreaker' round to go and find the folk you had those interesting chats with.Why?Have you ever been to an event and stood in the corner, or seen someone who has? It can be difficult to throw yourself in at the deep end and start talking to strangers or start talking to the 'big group over there'.Going to a networking event (especially on your own) can feel a bit awkward, nerve-wracking, and for some of it you feel like you've stood around like a spare part.Under the Layer is an environment where you are encouraged to be yourself and have a laugh whilst expanding your network through interesting conversations with none of the awkward chit-chat.----------------------------------The Format of the Evening:6:30pm - Doors open - drinks, hello's and introductions7:00pm - The creative 'icebreaker round'8:00pm - Icebreaker round ends, now it's a free-for-all! Go and find those people you want to continue chatting to, network with others, grow your network10:00pm - End of the night, obviously you can go home when you want, but this is when we're closing the doors (the bar downstairs will still be open though!)----------------------------------The Boring StuffThis is a donation ticketed event, so donate as little or as much as you like. We understand times are a little bit tough at the moment and we wouldn't want to prevent anyone from being able to come and get involved. If you're unable to pay the £1 minimum donation then send an email to oliver@ovrdesignstudio.com and we'll find a way to get your spot reserved!As we want everybody to have at least one other person to talk to, please email oliver@ovrdesignstudio.com if you aren't able to make it (odd numbers aren't our friend here!) and we wouldn't want people to go without.Please tell your friends and colleagues about this group too! Whether they're in creative industries, have a creative hobby, or are just interested in having conversations based around creativity and what design, art and creativity mean to them and the wider world.Over 18+ only due to location.
