I have been working with people suffering chronic pain and health issues for over 20 years in different settings, including the NHS, sport, business and private healthcare.I am Chartered Physiotherapist with a background in nursing, rehabilitation, coaching and pain sciences. In 1999, I set up theSpecialist Pain Physio Clinicsto focus on helping people who are suffering chronic pain, persistent pain, recurring injuries and complex conditions to improve their lives using practical knowledge, skills, training and treatment.Over the past 10 years I have pioneered The Pain Coach Programme. This is a blend of the latest pain science,  where I keep an academic foothold, with strengths-based coaching that uses the habits of peak performance to achieve success. The Programme offers a comprehensive and positive approach to understand pain and live a fulfilling life.In 2015 I co-founded the social enterpriseUnderstand Painwith a then patient suffering CRPS. The purpose of UP is to raise awareness of the problem of pain, the No1 global health burden, and to help people improve their lives by giving them practocal knowlegde and skills. One of the main projects is#upandrunthat combines my ultrarunning with UP Workshops.

<P>At the Understand Pain workshop we will answer these questions together with practicing some simple tools that you can take away and start using straight away.</P>

Our vision is a world that understands pain, in which the needs of people are met so that we can reduce the enormous burden of suffering and cost in society. Our knowledge about pain and related areas has and is growing rapidly. UP gathers this knowledge and distills the research and science into practical tools for you to use to achieve your goals. </P>
<P>Co-founder of UP, <A HREF="http://www.specialistpainphysio.com" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Richmond Stace</A>, uses a blend of pain science and strengths-based coaching to tap into your potential for growth. Richmond pioneered <A HREF="http://www.specialistpainphysio.com/pain-coach-programme/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Pain Coach Programme</A> as a way for people to understand their pain and move on to living a fulfilling life. Whilst pain relief is always an aim, one of the most effective ways of living your best life is by building wellness. Wellness is our greatest buffer to life's challenges. When we feel well, we can face the inevitable ups and downs that life presents for us, and there are now the known skills of being well that we can all practice. This on a background of truly understanding your pain is a potent force for moving in a desirable direction. </P>

<P>This workshop does not replace your existing treatment programme, instead sitting alongside what you are already doing, but very much focusing on <STRONG>how you can improve your life</STRONG>.</P>
<P>This event is free, however we do welcome donations if possible, so that we can build and develop our work.</P>
