About this event

The Access to Work scheme aims to support disabled, chronically unwell and neurodivergent people stay in work, whether that's employment or self employment. The scheme provides funding for specialist equipment and software, travel, adaptations to premises and, most importantly for Virtual Assistants, support workers.

More and more people are being awarded support workers and they are reaching out to Virtual Assistants to help them. These are the neurodivergent and chronically unwell folks who need support staying focused, motivated and calm, managing their time, work planning and keeping organised. They may need someone to do tasks that they find particularly difficult or make them very anxious or that they just aren't well enough to do.

So what do you do if a potential client with Access to Work funding approaches you? How do you manage the paperwork? How do you know what it is and isn't appropriate for you to do? And most importantly, how do you get paid?!

Join me for a tour of the Access to Work scheme as it relates to Virtual Assistants (roughly 45 minutes), followed by plenty time for questions and discussion.
