This course is an introduction to the process of radicalisation and how to respond when concerns arise. It has been designed to provide participants with awareness and understanding of indicators and risk factors to effectively contribute to safeguarding vulnerable individuals of all ages from radicalisation.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand what extremism and radicalisation are and why it is important to discuss and address them in relation to safeguarding.
- To understand how the Prevent strategy and Channel process can be used to support vulnerable individuals, improve their health and well being outcomes and divert them away from potential harm.
- Better understand what makes people vulnerable to radicalisation.
- To understand the impact the corona virus pandemic has had on level of risk
- Understand practitioner responsibilities.
Target Audience:
This course is for staff working in settings with vulnerable individuals of all ages, individually or in a group setting, who may become aware of signs of vulnerability to radicalisation.
