It can be difficult to know what to do when someone tells you they are experiencing domestic abuse, or how to ask questions, if you suspect people want to talk.

People from all walks of life are affected by domestic abuse, so you having the confidence and knowledge to talk about abuse and where someone can seek help will make all the difference!

Rising Sun Domestic Violence & Abuse Service is offering free training to Kent University staff around domestic abuse, in partnership with Clarion Housing.

This two hour training will help you develop your understanding of what domestic abuse is, what it looks like and how to respond.

The training will cover:

The definition and dynamics of domestic abuse

How it impacts survivors’ lives

The barriers to seeking help

How to respond if a survivor discloses abuse

How to seek ongoing support

This training is provided as part of the service funded by KCC within the Integrated Domestic Abuse Service contract. Clarion Housing Group partners with Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service closely on a number of projects within east Kent combining their knowledge and skills to bring vital services to our community, including domestic abuse provision in hospitals; domestic abuse advocacy and crises intervention and training.
