Evidence Base: Best practice as required in NICE guidelines promotes a multidisciplinary approach, with parents and carers playing a key part in having ownership and knowledge to support their children and young people.

Accreditation: We are licensed by the ADHD Foundation to deliver the Understanding ADHD workshop which informs part of this workshop.

Objective: This workshop is designed to empower parents and carers with the knowledge and skills they need to reduce dependence on statutory services. Autism and ADHD are neurological conditions – these workshops explain the different presentations of these conditions.

Workshop Content:

  • Characteristics of Autism and ADHD
  • Recognising myths & facts
  • Understanding how Autism and ADHD affects executive functioning & emotional regulation
  • Impact of a dual diagnosis

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain knowledge and understanding of Autism and ADHD.
  • Understand the different conditions, the overlap between conditions, and the different ways this may present
  • Explore both the strengths and the challenges of Autism and ADHD
  • Identify and be equipped to access the support and services they need
