A workshop for those who work with children with attachment difficulties and those who have had adverse life experiences, such as witnessing of violence, substance misuse and or loss/ separation from parents.

Clinical Psychologists, Dr Kirsty Hughes and Dr Louise Mansell from CP Nurture are specialist in understanding the impact of trauma on people across the lifespan, following extensive research, training and experience within CPNurture and prior to this leading the NHS CAMHS cared for children team in Rochdale.

They are delivering a 2.5 hour introductory workshop for those who support young people with these life experiences

Aims

Develop participant’s knowledge about the impact attachment/developmental trauma and toxic stress has on the brain, behaviour, emotional regulation, self-worth and learning.

Introduce those attending to ways they can make every day interactions therapeutic, beneficial and support the journey of recovery for young people with the most traumatic experiences.

FREE tip sheets and resources will be provided to take back to school/workplace. Plus certificates of attendance.

Clinical Psychologists will also be available following the session for questions and to discuss how their 'Whole School Attachment Approach' has been used over 18months periods in schools and the impact!
