This course gives you an in-depth understanding of mental health and well-being. You'll learn about services, laws, public attitudes, and how to support people through different stages of life. It also covers common conditions, treatment options, and key skills for working in mental health or care settings.
Topics covered?
- Learn about key mental health laws and how they’ve changed over time.
- Explore what affects mental health at different life stages and how to support well-being through national campaigns.
- Understand how mental health issues affect individuals, families, and society, including links to substance misuse and offending.
- Learn about different mental health conditions, the recovery model, and how to support others as a mental health worker.
- Build the skills and knowledge needed to work in mental health and understand key roles and support services.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of working in mental health support.
