By Manchester Parent Carer Forum
Overview
This workshop aims to impart parents with information about neurodiversity (different ways a person’s brain processes information).
This session is aimed at parents/carers of PRIMARY and SECONDARY school-aged children. *Other sessions in North and Central Manchester are also available.*
This workshop is led by senior mental health professionals working in the Social Communication Pathway (SCP) and will provide the opportunity to:
- Develop your understanding of neurodiversity.
- Consider what being neurodivergent might mean for your child/young person.
- Think about factors that might impact on wellbeing for neurodivergent people.
- Learn about approaches to support wellbeing and how to access further help.
- Hear about the experiences of other families and share your own experiences if you wish.
Biscuits, tea and coffee will be provided.
If you need an interpreter to access the session, please email ManchesterSCP.Workshops@mft.nhs.uk with at least a week’s notice before the session. Each session can only cater for one interpreter so please contact the SCP team ASAP if you require one.
