You’ll learn how to spot the difference between sensory overwhelm/meltdowns and tantrums, and discover how sensory challenges can link to anxiety and emotional distress.
We’ll also unpack what happens to executive functioning during sensory overload, explore the purpose and benefits of stimming, and discuss gentle, supportive ways to guide stimming if it becomes unsafe. Throughout the session, you’ll pick up practical techniques for helping regulate the sensory system and supporting children and young people to feel calmer, more grounded and more in control.
