Sphere Memory and Rehabilitation Team (SMaRT) are specialists in how the brain works and passionate about rehabilitation in the community. Rehabilitation encompasses the full spectrum of the cognitive, psychological and physical changes and the impact on the family and wider support system. We know that when a life altering injury occurs, there is a process of adjustment and at times it may be felt that life is no longer worth living. At these times, understanding risk and provision of risk intervention is an essential part of rehabilitation. The webinar is a guide for professionals working with clients with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and other complex trauma injuries. Donations from the webinar will go to SameYou to support their essential work in providing better holistic rehabilitation care.When people are faced with life-changing injuries, coming to terms with the changes can result in a huge spectrum of difficult emotions. It is common that people will consider what the point of continuing to live is. Some people will actively think about taking their own lives. In our experience, suicidal thoughts and acts can understandably cause significant distress and anxiety for professionals and it can be hard to know what to do in the face of suicidal risk.
