Undocumented migration (Polity, 2019) - Book launch

International Migration and Superdiversity (IRIS)

Undocumented migration is a global and yet elusive phenomenon. From the journeys migrants take to the lives they seek on arrival and beyond, Undocumented Migration provides a comparative view of how this phenomenon plays out, looking in particular at the United States and Europe in the context of the new global governace of migration. Drawing on their extensive expertise, the authors breathe life into the various issues and debates surrounding migration, including the experiences and voices of migrants themselves, to offer a critical analysis of a hidden and too often misrepresented population. 
The event will be hosted by the Institute for Research into Superdiversity at the University of Birmingham.  <A HREF="https://nandosigona.info/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nando Sigona</A> and Anna Papoutsi will be joined by <A HREF="https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/sociology/staff/hannahjones/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hannah Jones</A> (University of Warwick, lead author of Go home? The politics of immigration controversies, MUP), <A HREF="https://www.festivaloflearning.org.uk/award-winners/habib-rezaie/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Habib Rezaie</A> (community researcher, Becoming Adult project), and Dave Stamp (ASIRT, Birmingham). Co-authors Roberto G. Gonzales and Martha C. Franco will join the discusion via Skype. The book is published in Polity's award-winning "Immigration and society" series.
