- Kerry Campbell, Co-founder of 8 Doors Distillery, the most northern mainland whisky based distillery in Scotland located in John O’Groats opened in 2022, who’s name is inspired by the legend surrounding Jan De Groot, is focussing on growing their export business with a current focus on the US and Japan. After an initial order for Japan from visitors to the distillery, they wanted to head out to the market to assess this opportunity further and were successful in securing a larger 2nd order. Key findings from a recent visit to the US was the strength of competition. They are currently developing innovative approaches and a plan to win US export sales.
- Fiona Lindsay, Co-founder of Reblade, the first specialist wind energy decommissioning service provider in the UK, working with major global wind operators, is focussing on exploring opportunities in Europe, after initially looking at the US but has to refocus following changes in the US energy policy. Scaling fast the next steps are building their brand globally, and options to finance this growth.
