Monday 21st March 5-9pm (art exhibition + opening event and launch of Clean Break’s Digital Timeline at 6pm)Tuesday 22nd March 12-7pm (art exhibition only)Explore in person the artwork produced by the Women|Theatre|Justice artist-in-residence Laura Dean in un:mute - a powerful and different way of telling the story of a research project. In 1979 serving prisoners founded a women-only theatre company. Today it is the internationally-renowned theatre, education and advocacy organisation Clean Break, which puts women’s experience of the criminal justice system centre stage. The W|T|J team are academics from Business Schools and Applied Theatre and Contemporary Performance researching how Clean Break works and its impact on theatre, the criminal justice system, and the women at its heart. In response, Dean has created imagery that is astute, bold, often humorous and always compassionate. Monday 21st at 6pm – join us for the Opening Event! Introduction + refreshments Doors open from 5pm.Introduction by the WTJ project researchers + Launch by Anna Herrmann, Joint Artistic Director of Clean Break, of the story of the company in its digital timeline. The event is free, but please register to help with numbers for catering.
