The Bridewell's gallery spaces host exhibitions and creative events produced by our resident artists plus many other visiting practioners from throughout the North West and UK.Set in a Grade 2 listed police station built in 1846 it is now run by a charity which provides 35 studio based artists and craftspeople with workspace and support.  Over the last 42 years many artists have worked or had connections with the studios and gallery, including Adrian Henri, Richard Young, Stephen Broadbent, Maurice Cockrill, Ian McKeever, Anish Kapoor and the singer/songwriter David Gray. The building itself became famous in the 1980’s as one of the locations for Alan Bleasdale’s ‘Boys from the Blackstuff’.

Bridewell Studios and Gallery

&#x27;Unpublished&#x27; is a multi-media art exhibition hosted by Liverpool&#x27;s Bridewell Studios &amp; Gallery that will bring 15 artists from Cumbria presenting arts in multi-media form during the two weeks event. The event is being organised by Irene Rogan whose art work is based on deep engagement with the environment. Her Unpublished Tour which took place in 2021 in Cumbria comprises of multi-media artists whose work represent their engagement with the environment that is presented in multi-media form. Private View is the opening ceremony of the &#x27;Unpublished&#x27; multi-media art exhibition which will be taking place for two weeks in Liverpool&#x27;s Bridewell Studios &amp; Gallery, bringing artists who participated in the 2021 Unpublished Tour. Watch Wallace Heim, w/ Kevin McNally &amp; Marianne Walsh commencing the event through their performance of &#x27;We Slip. We Bind. We Beg&#x27; &amp; &#x27; The Golden Oar&#x27; from 6-9pm on 1st of October, 2022.
