What is Eco Printing?
It's an environmentally friendly vibrant form of printing that uses natural organic materials bundled up in cloth. The 'bundle' is then steamed, capturing the beautiful colourful essences, giving a unique Eco print. It's low impact and zero waste. We will be using foraged leaves, berries and kitchen spices, all which can be composted. This workshop was delivered for the BBC
What will we do?
We are delighted to be collaborating with Jenny Gardner Upholstery for this workshop. Jenny will guide you step by step to turn your Eco Printed fabric (from part 1) into a lampshade. You will make a 20cm drum lampshade and use a push in lamp fitting in a bottle to create your lamp. Bring along an empty bottle or choose from Jenny's stock.
If you'd like to make a weekend of it, consecutive dates are Sat 26th April(eco printing) and 27th (lampshade), Sat17th May(eco printing) and 18th (lampshade). Also Lampshade Making on 29 March
