This workshop invites the public to put their creativity to use by designing their own wearable and personalised clothing and jewellery with found materials. It is about flourishing and blossoming and showing that beautiful things can be formed out of discarded waste. It is about reflecting on the environment and promoting a more ethical, resourceful and sustainable future. 

According to fast fashion waste statistics, the industry produces over 92 million tonnes of waste per year. The effects of fast fashion on the environment are significant and involve CO2 emissions, water consumption, chemical pollution, and textile waste. 

At the Bridge we receive countless donations of clothes that are often drab, ill fitting and surplus to the needs of our guests. We decided to repurpose these garments by designing our own fashion line to bring a sense of ownership and individuality to them by turning waste into worn.
