The significant changes in the rules and regulations set by the US Government in July 2017 are now applicable for your charity. USAID (through 2 CFR 200 and 2 CFR 700 has released important new guidelines. 9-10 January USAID and CDC Financial Management and Compliance - 2018 and Beyond Receive up-to-date guidance for implementing the new rules.  The two-day training course has been completely updated with the newest guidance released by the US Federal Government as well as its various agencies. This course will bring technical, financial, internal audit, M&E and compliance staff right up-to-date on what they must do to comply with the guidelines and be ready for the USG or ‘Yellow Book’ audit. There are now new responsibilities for performance reporting, internal controls, sub-recipient management, procurement and other areas.
During the session attendees will learn everything that is needed to meet your agreement requirements. Our training course will enable you to be prepared for your ‘Yellow Book’ audit in just two days!

11 January Implementation and compliance challenges facing USAID recipients The second part of the course is broken down into four new short modules that all implementing partners should find extremely useful:
1. Module one covers conflict of interest, fraud, and ethics which have become very topical under the revised Uniform Guidance.
2. Module two covers indirect costs or NICRA (Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement) recovery method and delves into the options that USAID is allowing, or not. The indirect cost space continues to evolve as USAID missions overseas begin to come to terms with recognising NICRAs for non-US Organisations. Also, the 10% de minimis option is covered in for USAID partners.
3. Module three delves into sub-recipient management/auditing where the revised Uniform Guidance placed much greater responsibilities on Prime Recipients over their subs. We cover all of the 8 oversight requirements as well as the process for creating a compliant sub-award.
4. The final module covers Prior Approvals – an area recipients frequently misunderstand. There are at least 25 unique situations where a USAID recipient will need specific Prior Approval from their Agreement Officer (AO) (or possibly their AOR). We examine what is actually required and how not being compliant could lead to serious unwanted audit findings.
