CALLING ALL TEACHERS IN YORKSHIRE!

As part of the Leeds Digital Festival 2018, Using EdTech in the Classroom is an exciting free event connecting local services and creative or technology-related companies with Yorkshire schools. With free food and drinks and lots of amazing guest speakers and educational tools, it's the perfect event for teachers!

 

Who is this for?

Any primary and secondary school teacher.

 

What will I learn?

  • Learn where to start with using educational technology in and out of the classroom.
  • Find out about the extensive range of technology, STEM and creative resources available.
  • Find out more about exciting creative after school clubs or STEM workshops available.
  • Talk one-to-one with local creative or technology-related companies and get a hands-on, fun experience with trying out their product!
  • Learn how EdTech can help with assessments, cut down on marking and reduce teacher workload.
  • Discover how EdTech can be used to enhance student engagement with their curriculum and boost their outcomes.

 

Event Schedule:

17:00-17:45: Registration, refreshments and networking between teachers and EdTech companies

17:45-18:30: Four guest speakers discussing EdTech in the classroom

18:30-20:00: Visit the stands for all the EdTech companies to get a hands on experience of their product


Guest Speakers:

  • Dr James Gupta, CEO and Co-Founder of EdTech company, Synap

  • Nina Iles, Head of EdTech at BESA

  • Ms Kellie Halliday, Headteacher at Hovingham Primary School in Leeds

  • Sebastian Francis, Co-Founder and Director of certified Moodle Partner, Titus Learning

 

Location and Parking:

The event will be held on the 7th floor at Platform, Bruntwood. New Station St, Leeds LS1 4JB - it is the building directly above the train station. Parking is available just one minute down the road at Trinity Leeds car park.
