This online session for Surrey PGRs focuses on creating a re-usable template in WORD that can help with thesis writing and other projects.

This workshop teaches you how to create a re-usable template in WORD which contains all the formatting, page layout options, chapter headings and automatic table of contents based on styles required for a professional and easily managed thesis - saving you hours of time and giving a template you can use for future pieces of work.A manual and files will be provided to each student taking part in the session. The course is suitable for Windows and Mac users; the trainer will be teaching using Windows and will be providing Mac explanations also available in the manual.At the end of the session you will have:1. created a template to use for your own thesis;2. the skills and knowledge to create templates for further pieces of work;3. the ability to apply the specific settings required by your department/faculty embedded into WORD for your thesis to automatically compile the contents page, chapter headings, captions and more!FacilitatorMarion Moore is a qualified lecturer with 20 years teaching experience using Microsoft Office. She has worked with a number of institutions including the Institute of Cancer Research and King’s College London.
