UTC Warrington Open Event

Born out of the skills gap identified in the Warrington Skills Commission in 2012, which identified a shortage of skilled Engineers in Warrington, UTC Warrington is a dedicated 14-19 academy with specialisms in Science and Engineering. With our £10 million iconic new building, filled with £1 million of specialist engineering equipment, we aim to create a unique, aspirational, technical and academic curriculum, which prepares our students for an exciting career on their doorstep, or beyond.Working alongside our educational sponsor, Manchester Metropolitan University, we have the benefit of their expertise in supporting students into accessing high-quality Higher Education provision, as well as the technical know-how of their lecturers. Moreover, UTC Warrington supplement academic knowledge and experience with employer master classes, technical projects and work experience in partnership with over 50 industry partners, including Sellafield Ltd, Fujitsu, Wood, Atkins, Nuvia and Stanley.Set in an iconic building centrally located in Warrington town centre, with Warrington Central train station and Warrington Bus Station on our doorstep, UTC Warrington is accessible for students far and wide. Through our innovate and forward-thinking STEAM curriculum, which marries creative and entrepreneurial skills alongside Science and Engineering, UTC Warrington will address the disconnect between education and industry, providing students with a competitive edge.

University Technical College Warrington

We are excited to invite prospective students and their parents/carers in to meet the staff and students at UTC Warrington.
Come and take a look around all 6 floors of the college, including our 3 specialist engineering floors and dedicated science floor. Plus, take a look around our Fujitsu branded Learning Resource Centre, 160 seat lecture theatre and catering spaces throughout the building.
Interactive workshops will be taking place across all of the college's departments to give prospective students (and their parents) a flavour of the types of sessions they could look forward to if they choose to study with us from September 2019. 
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early as there will be lots to see and do during the event! 
We will be holding two open events on Thursday 13th September, 5.30pm - 8.00pm and Saturday 15th September, 10.00am - 1.00pm.

<H2>At the UTC</H2>
Principal & Chief Executive Mr Barber will be hosting a presentation for  visitors to the college accompanied by some of our employer partners who will share their reasons for working with the college and our students.
Additonally, our very own students will be on hand to provide guided tours of the building and introduce you to our dedicated team of staff who will be on hand to talk you through our impressive curriculum.
Representatives from many of our employer partner organisations will be available during the events to talk you through how they are working with our students during their time at the college and the types of employment opportunities available to our students within their businesses, locally, nationally and internationally!
Refreshments will be available in The Hangout, located on the 5th floor.

Please register for the event in the prospective student's name (i.e. not the parent's name). Registering a parental e-mail address is fine, as further details will be sent out to this address during the recruitment process.
Applications will be accepted during the event. Applicants are welcome from across the North West, the college is conveniently located within the new Stadium Quarter, which is a 5 minute walk away from Warrington Central train station, Warrington Bus Interchange and a 10 minute walk from Warrington Bank Quay station.
By registering to attend this event you give permission for your photograph to be taken and used by UTC Warrington within marketing material, both printed and online. If you wish to withdraw this consent, please notify a member of the team upon arrival.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is a pay and display car park available to the right and front of the UTC.
Alternatively you may consider parking on the Tesco / Warrington Wolves stadium, which is approximately a 5 minute walk away or the Golden Square car park which is also a 5 minute walk away from UTC Warrington and offers free parking after 4.00pm on a Thursday evening.
