Valentine’s Ball – Dance Through Time is a social dance event inspired by the atmosphere of late 19th and early 20th century ballroom traditions.

This is not a historical reenactment, but a welcoming, community-focused ball where music, movement and shared atmosphere matter more than perfection or strict authenticity.

Programme overview:

12:00 – 15:00 | Dance Workshop
The day begins with a dance workshop open to everyone, including complete beginners.
During the workshop, participants will learn basic social dances of the period such as polkas, waltzes, quadrilles and other popular ballroom dances of the time.
No previous dance experience is required.

19:00 – 24:00 | Valentine’s Ball
In the evening, guests are invited to the Valentine’s Ball with live music.
The evening focuses on social dancing, music and shared atmosphere.
Dances learned during the workshop can be enjoyed again during the ball, alongside additional dances throughout the night.

Live music will be provided by folk ensemble ZEIDI (Latvia), performing music suitable for social and historical-style dances.

Dance Workshop

A beginner-friendly dance workshop introducing late 19th and early 20th century social dances. Participants will learn basic steps, movement, rhythm and simple partner interaction through polkas, waltzes, quadrilles and similar dances. No previous dance experience is required. The workshop helps guests feel more confident and relaxed on the dance floor later in the evening, but participation is optional.

Free time between the workshop and the evening ball. Guests may rest, change outfits, eat, or enjoy the surroundings before returning for the evening programme.
