Working within the creative realm I meet people from all walks of life through ym work, I saw a real need for human connection and a relaxed, non juydgemental space where creative minds could come together and feel nourished by a kind community and a connection to our beautiful landscape. Come as you, no judgement here and dogs always welcome. The walks are always Matlock based and some months we do a special event.

Covid Compassion - how to be kind to ourselves and others about our physical selves

The media and society leaves us holding up an unrealistic view of who and what we should be. Through a world of social media we are realising the message fed to us that is also feeding the multi billion dollar diet industry, and that's before we event get into the beauty industry. Are you constantly feeling that you want change your physical appearace? Are you finding peoples language triggering during COVID-19?Is your choice of language about yourself triggering others?How do we get out of the cycle of self criticism?How can I find some peace around my physical self? (clue: it doesn't involve calorie counting)We have four speakers doing amazing work in the field of coaching and body acceptance heading up 5 minute talks each and then a panel discussion for this 90 minute lunchtime event.Speakers:Mary 'Badass' Meadows Mary is a performance coach and NLP practitioner - she supports people through one to one coaching or workshops to build a lasting relationship with their minds which in turn improves mental health. Christine ChessmanChristine is a (body inclusive) fitness coach with an intuitive approach to movement. She believes in using movement as a way of boosting our mental as well as our physical health. Christine will be covering about pressures around exercise during lockdown. Sal Jefferies Sal is a Courage Coach, Contemporary Psychotherapist and Yoga Teacher. He uses a complete mind-body approach to all his work and his strength is to help his clients develop two of the most significant qualities we need to be succeed and be fulfilled - Courage and Consciousness.Sal will be showing you that compassion is a physical as well as emotional and psychological experience and when we use the body and mind together, you can access compassion with easeEmma CromanEmma Croman, a photographer, has lived her life in a body that media and the healthcare world deemed unacceptable. In the past few years she has found her way body acceptance and has since headed up VALID - a portrait and interview series that opens up the conversation about shame and judgement around our bodies. Emma will be discussing how we can deal with critical voices and why you don't need to aim to LOVE your body.Host: Toni FinnimoreToni is a business mentor and regularly runs workshops and events including those around confidence and how valuable it is over competence. She also runs the Social Society and a number of charity ventures including Letters of Love. We would love to see you at this welcoming, inclusive event!
